In this article, I will be showing you a detailed guide on how to design a professional website and blog for your business. Yes, there’s a difference between a website and a blog; To begin with, A blog is a website, but a website is not necessarily a blog.

I will be making two different professional website design examples in this training; one will be for professional businesses, and the other will be for professional blogging businesses.

How To Build A Website – Professionally
A professional website is in different categories and can coordinate many activities and transactions online that a blog can not do. And I am about to show you how to build one for yourself.
Please note; that if you are looking for something more specific and it’s not mentioned here, do well to comment below about it and I’ll do my best to clarify it.
I want to assume at this point that you have gotten your domain and hosting already. This is because it is the first step to getting started with your online business. Now let us proceed!
The First Option is for Websites, while the Second Option is for Blogs, so you can choose which one you need right now and follow suit.
Get A Professional Website Theme (Recommended For Websites)
Without a professional WordPress theme, you will probably not be able to design a professional website for your business except if you are an expert programmer; Even at that, it will take a long time to do it from scratch.
But this method I’m about to show you will get you up and running in minutes.
For the sake of this tutorial, I will be using the Avada Theme to build a professional WordPress website now. If you want to see more WordPress theme options, check out the Top 10 Best WordPress Themes For Websites and Blogs.
Let’s Build A Website
Alright, let us get started with this tutorial on how to design a professional website with Avada Theme! You need to follow me step by step here to achieve the same results that I have okay!
Step 1. Get Avada WordPress Theme
Goto Avada and buy this professional WordPress Theme and then come back to step two.
Step 2. Install Avada WordPress Theme
When you first install Avada, the Avada Setup Wizard is triggered, which guides you through some basic choices in the setup of your new site. Depending on whether you will be starting with a Prebuilt Site as a basis for your new website, or you will be building a new website from scratch, you will encounter different steps.

Step 3. Registration & Setup
#1. Registration
The Avada Setup Wizard is initiated automatically on a new install of Avada. This takes you to Step 1 of the Wizard, where you must register your Avada copy. (It’s even personalized with your name, taken from the Display name publicly as a field in your user profile).
To register your copy of Avada, simply paste in the purchase code found on the Downloads page.
#2. Setup Type
Once you register, the Setup Wizard automatically takes you to Step 2.
Here, you choose the type of Setup Wizard you want to continue with; the Prebuilt Website wizard, or the New Website Wizard, and then enter the basic details of your site – the Site Title and Tagline. At this point the Setup Wizard forks, depending on which choice you make.
#3. Select A Website
When choosing a Prebuilt Website, the Setup Wizard is short and sweet, as many of the possible choices are contained in your choice of prebuilt site.
The colors, typography, pages, etc, all come with the import of the prebuilt site, so there is not a lot the Wizard needs to do.
So here, your most important choice is to choose a Prebuilt Site that best reflects the style of the website you want to create. To do that, simply mouse over your desired website and choose Select.
#4. Finish
The final step of the Prebuilt Website Wizard simply asks you to Complete the Setup and then displays the progress of the prebuilt website import.
When the Wizard has completed its tasks, you are redirected to the final page, which displays a range of links for you to view or start editing your site, manage layouts, menus, and global options, set up a support account, and read up on the Avada documentation.
#5. The Result
If we look at a montage of the resultant website from the New Website Wizard, we can see that we have a fully functional website with Studio content, and dummy content for blogs, portfolios, and shop items.
The Avada Setup Wizard can take less than five minutes to run but provides you with a fully functional website, set up with your own color and typography choices, as well as all the additional features you might require.
From this point, it’s a simple matter to customize the site, and these initial setup steps will save you literally hours of time. Now, that is magic!
Congratulations! You have now designed a professional website using the Avada WordPress Theme and at this point, you can now take your time to customize the whole website to your taste. You can do this by just simply editing texts and images to suit your business.

How To Design A Professional Blog
To build a Blog that is of high quality, it is very important to use a professional WordPress Theme to build such a blog.
This is because there are so many advantages to having a professional design for your blog, and if you use a free theme, you will be pretty much limited in the online space.
For more info on how to design a professional website, you can check out our Top 10 Best WordPress Themes For Blogs to choose which one is best for you, but for the sake of this tutorial, I will be using the SquareType WordPress Theme.
This theme is by far my favorite theme for blogging.
Step 1. Download Squaretype WordPress Theme
Visit SquareType WordPress Theme, buy and Download the Theme on your computer.
Step 2. Install SquareType Theme
After you have downloaded the theme, you should install both the parent theme and the child theme on your website.
Login to your WordPress admin panel and navigate to Appearance → Themes.
Click Add New button at the top of the page, then the Upload Theme button on the next page.

Step 3. Activate the Theme
Select the theme archive file on your computer and click Install Now.
Once the file is uploaded and installed, click Activate.
Go to Appearance → Theme License and input your purchase code to activate your theme.
Step 4. Squaretype Theme Plugin Installation
Note: We advise you to install all recommended plugins to enjoy all the theme features. It’s easy to install and activate them with one click.
Follow these steps after you activated Squaretype:
- Go to Appearance → Install Plugins.
- Select all the plugins in the list and choose Install from the Dropdown menu.
- Click Apply.
You may also install plugins by simply clicking the Begin Installing Plugins link in the notification message that appears after theme activation.
Step 5. Site Configuration
Congratulations! You’ve installed Squaretype and now it’s time to configure it.
Most of the theme configuration options are located in Appearance → Customise in the same order, as our documentation. Follow this section and it will help you configure your website.
- Upload your site logo and add your site description.
- Configure your menus and learn about navigation in Your Theme.
- Configure colors.
- Select matching typography & fonts.
- Set up your site header.
- Set up your site footer.
- Configure your homepage.
- Set up your posts.
- Set up your pages.
- Configure site archives layout.
- Configure your category pages.
- Check and verify the miscellaneous settings.
- Add banners, ads, or custom content with the Additional Content feature.
Step 6. Content Presentation
You need to install and activate the free plugin Powerkit to make this feature work.
You may install Powerkit from the list of recommended plugins in Appearance → Install Plugins or from the common plugins page in Plugins → Install Plugins.
