#2. PMI Impact Third Funding Round
Type of project: Projects that will foster partnerships and create synergies to enable sustainable solutions in the battle with illegal trade, specifically projects aimed at reducing, preventing, and countering the negative consequences of illegal trade for individuals, their families, and communities.

#3. To Do Award for Socially Responsible Tourism
Type of project: The TO DO is awarded for projects which are characterized by the active participation of the local population and fairness in the way the projects interact with all the stakeholders involved in the development of tourism.
Projects criteria include:
- Strengthening local people‘s awareness of the opportunities and risks of tourism development.
- Participation from a broad local population stratum on the positive social and cultural impacts of tourism, minimizing and/or preventing undesirable tourism-related social and cultural impacts.
- Creating income opportunities in tourism for local people and improving the working conditions.
- Promoting intercultural encounters and exchange between hosts and guests.
- Taking environmental and climate-related sustainability criteria and the sustainable use of natural resources into account.

#4. Disability Rights Fund – Round 2
Type of project: The Disability Rights Fund and Disability Rights Advocacy Fund are grant-making collaboratives that support organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) around the world to build diverse movements, ensure inclusive development agendas, and achieve equal rights and opportunity for all.
OPDs are equipped to advocate for the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and other relevant mechanisms. At least half of all grants go to marginalized sectors of the disability community.
There are three grant streams (National Coalition, Mid-Level Coalition, and Small Grants) each with its own priority areas.

Eligibility: To meet the minimum eligibility requirements, applicants must:
- Be based in and conduct the majority of activities in a target country.

#5. Dierenpark Amersfoort Wildlife Fund

#3. BBC Radio 4 Appeal
Type of project: The Radio 4 Appeal is a weekly 3-minute program highlighting the work of a charity and appealing for donations to support its activities. The appeal aims to provide an opportunity for raising money and awareness for a variety of charities.
Location: UK-wide & international
Eligibility: UK charities registered with the Charity Commission whose work has an impact at the UK or international level are eligible. A charity can only have an appeal broadcast on the BBC once every three years and you must have waited 2 years since your last unsuccessful application.
You must also provide audited or independently examined accounts and have up-to-date management accounts within a 3-month period. Charity members of the Disasters Emergency Committee are ineligible.

#4. The Philip Henman Trust

Grant Opportunities – October Deadline 2024
The following are grant opportunities or funding opportunities with October as their application deadline.
#1. The Laerdal Foundation
Type of project: Practically oriented projects helping achieve the UN SDG 3 aiming to reduce infant and child mortality by two-thirds from 2010 to 2030.
Projects relating to interventions on the day of birth – including the prevention of stillborn deaths will be prioritized. Applications that go beyond a local impact and have the potential to document long-term practical value and stimulate developments also in other regions/countries will also be prioritized.
The Foundation welcomes applications that can advance treatment recommendations, education, or implementation within: Resuscitation; Trauma; Maternal, and/or newborn care. Half of the budget is earmarked for projects or programs to save lives at birth in low-resource settings.
Location: Worldwide. Applications from Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal are encouraged.
Grant size: Up to $50,000, with the average grant of $30,000. 20 grants are expected to be awarded. Institutional overhead costs can be covered up to 10%.

#1. The Beit Trust
Type of project: This grant is focused on education, health, welfare, and/or the environment.
For education: Focus areas include postgraduate scholarships and grants for secondary and tertiary education. In secondary schools, grants are usually restricted to support construction projects and the provision of books.
For health: Grants are mainly given for infrastructure projects and to institutions dealing with the elderly and the physically and mentally disabled people.
For the environment: The focus to date has been the repopulation of black rhinos in Zimbabwe.
Applications must prove sustainability, public benefit, cost-effectiveness, and a serious commitment to the specific focus areas. Favorable consideration is given to organizations that demonstrate a degree of self-help, long-term sustainability, and an ability properly to administer the funds provided.

African Women’s Development Fund
Type of project: young women, women facing multiple discrimination, and approaches that include engaging the arts, culture, sports, and technology. The fund focuses on the following themes: Body & Health Rights; Economic Security & Justice; Leadership, Participation & Peace.
The fund also awards capacity-building grants that focus on advancing organizational growth and development – for example, strategic planning, developing fundraising and communications strategies, strengthening organizational governance systems and human resources management

Air Asia Foundation
Type of project: Helping social enterprises scale up to empower communities and enable them to build sustainable livelihoods. The scope of your proposal should clearly define a new initiative or expansion of an existing initiative based on a set of targets achievable within a 12-month period.
This may include the investment needed to develop and market new products or services, train new community members or purchase new equipment for the planned expansion.
Applications must clearly explain how the investment will enable the organization to improve its income-generating capacity to fund future activities. Their priority is to support smaller social enterprises that face funding constraints through conventional channels.
Location: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. They prioritize social enterprises that are based in a village/town/city that is within reasonable reach of an airport served by AirAsia in these countries.

Bread for the World – Partnership opportunities
Type of project: Bread for the World works with more than 2,000 partner organizations for peace, justice, and the preservation of creation. Partners are expected to share the funders underlying ethical values. Bread for the World needs to examine the organizational capacity of the partner organizations to conduct a project as well as the reasonability of a planned project.
Location: Countries of the Global South, as well as in Germany and across Europe.
Eligibility: Registered organizations may apply. They must provide proof of registration and a copy of their statutes and a letter of recommendation that shows that actions do not take place in isolation, but that they are integrated into the local development policy or church policy landscape.
Grant size: As a rule, all expenses directly related to the project can be funded.
However, Bread for the World avoids 100 % funding of projects. Partner organizations must secure other sources of financing (e.g. own funds, third-party financing). Project proposals that exceed €200,000 are also assessed by the Development Service and Humanitarian Aid Committee of Bread for the World.
The Bromley Trust
Type of project: There are two focus areas:
- Human Rights – trafficking & Slavery; Torture & Abuse and Persecution; Within this stream, the Trust does not support international development work, disaster relief, organizations working wholly outside of the UK, domestic abuse, or Female Genital Mutilation

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives
Type of project: The CFLI provides modest funding for small-scale, high-impact projects in more than 120 countries eligible for official development assistance (ODA).
Projects are planned and implemented mainly by local organizations and are selected and approved by the relevant Canadian Embassy or High Commission.
CFLI projects focus on issues such as: gender equality and empowerment of women and girls
human rights; democracy and governance; peace and security; climate action ; economic growth- The CFLI also provides modest financing for projects in response to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies

Chalk Cliff Trust
Type of project: education, malnutrition or medical related. The grant need not be specifically tied to funding projects. The funding can be used as seed capital, to help with core administration costs, or to help an organisation through a difficult time

Civicus Crisis Response Fund
Type of projects: CSOs facing new restrictions on their work can apply for funding for emergency advocacy actions to defend civic freedoms and democratic values.
The Fund provides grants to mobilize quick, principled and effective advocacy responses to events that threaten fundamental rights to associate and assemble freely.
The fund also supports civil society through resiliency grants, designed to ensure that organisations have greater flexibility and creativity to proactively prevent and mitigate threats against their organizations. Funds are provided where immediate action is required, either to forestall imminent threats or to address new restrictions.

Grant size: 10,000 USD for projects lasting up to 6 months
CIVICUS Solidarity Fund (CSF)
Type of project: The CSF is a member-led and member-resourced granting mechanism. The fund is accessible to CIVICUS members that normally struggle to access resources and support due to restrictions in the space where they operate, their organizing characteristics (unregistered, recently established organizations, etc) or simply who they are and what they challenge.
Small CSOs (formal and non-formal), individual activists, movements – particularly from historically oppressed and marginalized groups – and early-stage social advocates and social entrepreneurs are contributing to transformational impact in the communities served.
The objectives of the CIVICUS Solidarity Fund are to enhance solidarity within the alliance, foster a sense of belonging to a global movement for change; support civil society diversity and resilience, especially among smaller, non-formal actors; create opportunities where they do not exist for change-seeking actors to contribute to a more just, inclusive and sustainable world.
Location: For this round, eligible countries are those rated “repressed” or “closed” in the CIVICUS Monitor.
Eligibility: To apply, you must be a CIVICUS voting member or associate member; be both a national and a resident of an eligible country; belong to the same group or community whose issues you are trying to address.

The Coca-Cola Foundation
Type of project: Areas of focus are Empowering women: economic empowerment and entrepreneurship; Protecting the environment: access to clean water, water conservation, and recycling; Enhancing communities: education, youth development, and other community and civic initiatives.
In addition, the Foundation supports many local community programs such as HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness programs. The Coca-Cola Foundation is also providing additional funding and grants to communities and organizations in response to Coronavirus.

The Coles Medlock Foundation
Type of project: The Coles-Medlock Foundation is currently only focusing its giving on the empowerment and education of young girls. If your application does not meet these criteria, it is unlikely to be successful.

EU Can Aid
Type of project: Grants are provided for small target groups for concrete projects at a lower level than that which the main fund providers usually provide which are often used as co-financing for larger projects. Projects must aim to improve the quality of life of local communities or generate income for the beneficiaries.
Focus areas include Income generating activities:
- Social Projects – e.g. building or improving small social or training infrastructure or schools (roof, equipment, etc.), access to water, access to electricity; Education and training; Water supply; Renewable electricity; Sanitation (latrines).
- Socio-economic Projects – e.g. vocational training; Support for Reconstruction Following Natural Disasters.
Location: Priority is given to least developed countries as defined by the United Nations Development Programme, and, secondly, to poor regions in middle-income countries and, exceptionally, emerging countries.

EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian crisis
Type of project: Supporting Syrian refugees and host communities in the following areas: Education; Health; Livelihoods; Water & Sanitation; Protection, and Social Cohesion.
Location: Various locations including Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Armenia, and the Western Balkans.

The Euro-Mediterranean Foundation of Support to Human Rights Defenders – Urgent Grants
Type of project: Urgent grants are allocated to human rights defenders in difficulty or at risk, for the specific purpose of allowing them to protect their safety and pursue their activities, as well as to small human rights organizations or groups with the aim of strengthening their operational capacities to implement innovative activities in the region.
Location: South-Mediterranean region
Eligibility: Applicants must show that an intervention by the Foundation will help counter threats against their lives and/or those of members of their family and reinforce the visibility and pursuit of their activities at a strategic timing.

Type of project: Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects provides funding for projects focusing on basic education, health care, food and nutrition, WASH, child protection, and support for disadvantaged people.

European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM)
Type of project: EPIM is seeking to support transnational partnerships of civil society organizations active at EU, national, bilateral, regional, and/or local levels to advise European asylum policies and practices.
Projects should aim to: promote feasible, evidence-based alternatives; and/or put forward thought-provoking ideas, and/or react to policy proposals and practices to safeguard the right to asylum and prevent backtracking.
Projects must be advocacy-focused, i.e. seeking to bring about a change in existing and/or future policies and practices.
Supported activities could include, among others: power mapping and analysis, joint transnational civil society strategizing, policy roundtables, bilateral advocacy meetings, legislative lobbying, strategic litigation, and development of advocacy tools.
Location: Projects should be implemented in the European Union. Projects implemented in non-EU countries (e.g. Turkey, and the UK) could also be considered eligible if of EU relevance.
Eligibility: Non-profit organizations registered in the European Union are eligible. Non-EU-based non-profit organizations can apply as partners. EPIM will only consider applications that are based on a partnership of at least 2 civil society organizations.

Front Line Defenders Protection Grants

Global Innovation Fund
Type of project: social innovations that aim to improve the lives and opportunities of millions of people. There are three stages applicants can apply for:
- Pilot: Your innovation is still in an early phase. You are testing core assumptions around operational, social and financial viability.
- Test and Transition: Your innovation has completed initial testing and is now transitioning to a larger scale. You have some information on your operational, social and financial viability. You want to solidify this before you scale.
- Scale: Your innovation has solid operational, social and financial viability. You have strong evidence that my innovation improves the lives of those living on less than $5 PPP per day. Now you want to replicate your innovation in new countries and contexts, reaching millions of people.

Eligibility: for-profit firms, non-profit organizations, researchers, and government agencies may apply. Less than 10% of applicants are invited to submit full proposals.
Global Innovation Grant size:
- Pilot projects: The maximum per project is $230,000 USD.

Global security challenges
Type of projects: combatting global security challenges, with particular focus on countries affected by conflict and fragility and to support relevant analyses and the development of situational awareness.

Eligibility: NGOs (Norwegian, international and local, including non-commercial foundations), the UN system, and other multinational organizations.
Green Climate Fund
Project: The Green Climate Fund is a global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
Location: Developing countries
Eligibility: To implement projects funded by GCF, applicants must become Accredited Entities. These entities can be private, public, non-governmental, sub-national, national, regional, or international bodies and are responsible for presenting funding applications to GCF, and then overseeing, supervising, managing, and monitoring approved projects and programs.
Non-Accredited Entities can also engage with the fund via partnering with an Accredited Entity on implementing its approved GCF project; co-financing projects with an already Accredited Entity; and as a readiness delivery partner, provided that the entity can demonstrate relevant expertise, experience, and ability to implement projects.
Grant size: The Fund utilizes a variety of financial instruments to realize projects. These include grants, concessional debt financing, equity, and guarantees.
Hadley Trust
Type of project: the main focus has been on helping people who are disadvantaged to improve their situation, either by involvement in project and support work or research into the causes of, and means to alleviate, hardship. the trust does not take on many new funding commitments.
However, the trustees will always consider and respond to proposals that might enhance the effectiveness of the trust. 4% grants made for international projects.
Location: UK and overseas. The Trust´s overseas grant-making made up 4% of total grants in 2019/20.
Eligibility: Registered charities may apply. Occasionally the trust will make grants to organizations that are not registered charities provided the activity being funded supports the trust’s charitable purposes.

The International HIV/Aids Alliance Challenge Response Grant

2) it is critical that activities take place within the next few months to address barriers that prevent them from accessing HIV services

IUCN’s Save Our Species Rapid Action Grants
Type of project: Projects which enable and support the conservation of threatened species across Africa require urgent measures and rapid action at the local level to protect the species and their habitat.
Location: Sub-Saharan continental Africa, not including South Africa
Eligibility: Legally registered non-profit making organizations may apply, including local or international non-governmental organizations. Local and national CSOs, including indigenous or community-based organizations, will be favorably considered.
International NGOs will be required to work closely with national stakeholders, and local communities and with the consent and all required authorizations from the government.

IUCN´s Rapid Action Grants
Type of project: Rapid Action Grants are designed to enable immediate responses to new and emerging threats. Rapid Action Grants are currently open to projects responding to threats linked to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences, targeting terrestrial and freshwater threatened species.

Type of project: The Foundation was created to respond to the convergence of two global crises – inequality and climate breakdown and supports brave, innovative efforts that inspire and challenge industry to harness its power for good.
It has two focus areas: Fashion and the Built Environment and one cross-cutting programme: New Economy. The latter will work with financial actors as well as with industry actors to foster a shift in the global financial system.
It will also influence investments in fashion and the built environment, to explore how finance can be used to encourage or foster innovation and good business practice.
Location: The Foundation has offices in Europe, India, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh. The organization is global in nature, as is the New Economy programme. Their work in the built environment will focus mainly on Europe initially, while fashion focuses on the most relevant producing countries.

LGBTI Assistance Program
Type of project: A consortium of eight leading human rights and LGBTI organizations provides emergency assistance, advocacy funding, and security support to human rights defenders and civil society organizations under threat or attack due to their work for LGBTI rights.
The Program also supports targeted, time-bound advocacy campaigns to respond to threats or attacks on LGBTI human rights and human rights work, as well as assistance for individual victims or communities connected to funded advocacy campaigns. Security training is available to proactively assist organizations to continue their work more safely.
Location: Since 2012, Dignity for All has provided grants in 95 countries and territories
Eligibility: To qualify for emergency assistance, applicants must be under attack because of their work for LGBTI people or communities. Civil society organizations do not have to be officially registered to receive assistance but must be able to document at least six months of activism.
Applications can be submitted in English, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, Kiswahili, Turkish, Farsi, and Spanish.
LinkedIn Foundation
Type of project: We provide grants and resources to non-profits that support job seekers facing barriers to economic opportunity such as limited professional networks, low-income backgrounds, and a transitional period of life. Lush Charity Pot
Type of project: Grants to groups working in the areas of Animal Protection, Environment, and Human Rights (incl. social justice, peace & equality).
Grants prioritize projects that aim to create long-term change – because it’s crucially important to fund projects that aim to prevent and address the root cause of the problem. That’s why, for example, priority would be given to a project that aims to stop deforestation (e.g. by challenging the palm oil industry) over one that aims to plant trees to restore an area that’s already deforested.
Location: UK & overseas
Eligibility: To apply, your group should have an annual income of less than £250,000 and be run entirely or predominantly by volunteers. You don’t have to be UK based, but, in the case of overseas projects, these should be run by local people and under their direction.
Grants support ‘non-violent direct action groups, i.e. those which have no intention of physically harming others or threatening to do so. Social enterprises are not eligible.

Eligibility: Eligible institutions are departments or institutes from universities, hospitals other institutions of higher education in low- or lower-middle-income countries.
Joint applications from more than one institution (especially South-South) are welcomed.
Joint applications from more than one institution involving a North-South collaboration may also be considered.
For project applications demonstrating North-South collaboration, it is important that the following criteria are fulfilled:
(i) the Principal Investigator is from the South and the proposal has relevance to the nutritional problems of the South, and
(ii) the majority of the budget is earmarked for the South and
(iii) demonstration of the completion of the project of institution and capacity building in a sustainable manner in the South.

Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR)´s The Change Fund
Type of project: The Change Fund is a funding mechanism created to provide quick, flexible, and focused emergency response funding to community-based local organizations in 27 priority countries in the Global South.
With localization as its core pillar, an essential criterion is that beneficiary organizations are embedded within their communities; that is, woven into the social fabric of the communities they serve.
There are currently no restrictions on what activities can be implemented with the funds as long as they contribute to alleviating the challenges faced by a community in crisis.
Location: Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Eligibility: Applicants must be made by NEAR members when a crisis is declared. The two most essential requirements for grant approval are:
1. an active registration or license from a government authority confirming non-governmental or non-profit status;
2. a copy of the organization’s most recent financial report.
Grant size: more than US$ 1 million has been disbursed to eight organizations to date.
The Noel Buxton Trust’s African Grants
Type of projects: hard-to-fund community-led organizations working to build local sustainable livelihoods, such as small business support and training and microfinance in both urban and rural settings

Eligibility: intergovernmental organizations such as UN agencies and international, national, regional, and non-governmental organizations. Individuals, private entities, and the OFID Member States -Algeria, Ecuador, Gabon, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela – are not eligible to apply for assistance.

- Digital Security – OTF aims to fill missing digital security capacity needs for on-the-ground organizations promoting human rights, focusing on those fighting to increase free expression and Internet freedom.

To resolve digital emergencies, OTF offers both direct financial support as well as technical services from trusted partners to high-risk people and organizations, such as bloggers, cyber activists, journalists, and human rights defenders.

It is important to them that the women work together in self-help groups and use the RSWR resources to help themselves grow into independent and strong groups.
Location: Sierra Leone.
Eligibility: In Sierra Leone, all groups must be self-directed by the women beneficiaries themselves. The leadership and management must come from within the group.
The group cannot be formed or managed by outside coordinators. Additionally, the group must be registered with the local authorities and have a bank account, and the signers on the bank account must be three women who are members of the group.
Groups should be less than 20 years old and have an annual budget of less than $4,000.
