When it comes to fast business registration services, BetterLegal is definitely the #1 on the list with their turnaround time which is second to none.
Their registration portal is so flexible in such a way that a complete novice can use it easily to form an LLC or a Corporation on their own without extra hands to help.

I wrote that article to show you the step-by-step guide on how to use the BetterLegal registration portal to form an LLC or a business Corporation.
They have great packages and add-ons that will definitely help grow your business. We’ll discuss more on these packages and add-ons as we proceed deeper into this post.
About BetterLegal [An Overview]
The Company (BetterLegal) was founded in 2017 and is based in Austin Texas.
Just like so many other business registration agencies in the United States, BetterLegal also emphasizes its drive and efficiency. If you take a good look at their home page, you will find the following statement:
Despite the mouth-watering turnaround time and flexibility that BetterLegal offer, They, however, use third-party services in some of their packages. Things like “registered agent service” is usually with the help of third-party service and as a result of this, their pricing can go a bit higher than other agencies. If you check below, you will see some alternative companies to BetterLegal.
Their partnership with other companies and agencies includes banks, Insurance Companies, online accounting firms, etc.
There are so many alternatives to betterLegal and I’ll just list them here, but if you need an extensive review on each of them, then you can let me know in the comment section and I’ll do you the honors.
Here’s the List of BetterLegal Alternatives:
Their primary focus is mainly on business formation, and they are very good at that service I must say. And just like I said earlier at the beginning of this post, they do have many other services included in their packages to help you start and run a successful business.
Among many other additional services that BetterLegal offer, their primary or main services which almost everyone is constantly going for always are:
- Operating Agreement and Bylaws drafting
- A business license and permit search service
- Compliance services, including the filing of annual reports
- Amendment filings, such as those needed to change your business’s name, address, state of operation, or member info
Note: BetterLegal can definitly help you with your LLC formation or other types of business formation by taking care of all the technicalities of business entity creation. However, they are not a law or accounting firm and cannot provide legal or tax advice. If by any means, you need a legal advice regarding your LLC formation or incorporation, or maybe, your business formation is particularly a complex one, you should always consult with an attorney.
When you get to the BetterLegal pricing page, you’ll realize that their pricing structure is very straightforward. Now, unlike other companies in this same space, they do offer a bundle for just one flat fee; While others will present you with several formation package tiers.
BetterLegal’s Formation and Incorporation Package: $299 + state fees (Form an LLC)
This package is okay when compared to the services they are giving you.
Here are the things included in this package:
Articles of Organization or Incorporation: These documents are exactly what officially establishes your LLC or corporation with your state, without them, it’s almost as if your company formation didn’t take place. BetterLegal’s Turnaround time, you are guaranteed to get them on the same day of filing and a super-fast return of documents once your state has successfully processed them.
Tax ID No./EIN: Your EINs (Employer Identification Numbers) are used by the IRS to keep track of businesses. The whole process of getting your EIN is very easy with BetterLegal, and it is done online in minutes through the IRS’s EIN filing web page.
Operating Agreement or Bylaws: These documents helps protect you from things like lawsuits and also help you to establish the guidelines concerning how your LLC or corporation is to be run.
Banking Resolution: This document will help you to state who is allowed to open a business account and perform any other banking activities on behalf of the business. This document is very important and required if you intend to open a bank account for your business.
Tax Analysis: BetterLegal has other business partners who can help you with all your tax analysis and planning.

Is BetterLegal’s formation package a good value for the money?
While BetterLegal is right to point out that some of its larger competitors charge more than it does for a full formation, we don’t believe BetterLegal’s own package is a particularly strong value either.
Firstly, several of the “add-ons” included with BetterLegal’s package are really just opportunities to buy other services through third parties. This is true of the insurance evaluation and tax analysis, for instance.
EIN filing also adds almost no value, as it only takes a few minutes to file for an EIN yourself through the IRS’s website.
As for web services, it’s clear from BetterLegal’s own description that the business websites they offer as part of their package have limited capabilities. Better to go directly to a website builder service and pick a setup that’s just right for your business needs.
On top of all this, there’s no registered agent service included with BetterLegal’s formation package. We consider this to be an essential service, and it’s one that most companies offer at least a free full year of with the purchase of a formation package.
BetterLegal’s turnaround times are solid. The fact that they include Articles of Incorporation or Organization drafting in their formation package is a definite plus. But these upsides just aren’t enough to justify the package’s high price tag when compared to other LLC services.
BetterLegal Cancellation policy
Although this policy is not explicitly mentioned, it can be assumed that this policy will apply to other recurring-fee services. So, the best way to avoid being charged extra fees for things like forwarded mail sent even after you cancel your service, We’ll advise you to contact the third-party registered agent service directly.
BetterLegal Pros and Cons
Here are some of the pros and cons of BetterLegal.
Below are some of the advantages or pros of BetterLegal;
1. Fast Turnaround Time
BetterLegal is always highlighting its turnaround time on its homepage. Their same-day filings for all business formation means that your Articles of Organization or Incorporation will be sent to state authorities on the same day you submit them through BetterLegal.
According to them, you’ll also receive your documents within two business days. It’s safe to assume that this two days delivery of documents does not account for the actual states’ processing times, which normally take a couple of weeks.
If you check Trustpilot for instance, you will find out that so many reviews are backing them up with their claim.
2. Quality Customer Reviews
BetterLegal has taken good care of their customers in such a way that they are strongly recommending them online, even on Trustpilot. If you look at the image below, you will see how strong their reviews are on Trustpilot.
BetterLegal Scores a 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot
They also have a 4.88 out of 5 with the BBB.
They’re also accredited by the Business Bureau and with an A+ rating boast. It’s no surprise that BetterLegal seems to have good standing with customers across the board.
3. Cheap Registered Agent Service
BetterLegal is by far the cheapest when it comes to its third-party Registered Agent service. Their fee is just $90 per annum or $10 per month.
BetterLegal also has plenty of areas that could use improvement. We go over some of them below.
1. High price for full formation
BetterLegal’s formation package starts at a $299 flat fee, which is a bit high with respect to a few others in the same space.
Unlike IncAuthority, which cost less than that; Around $198. We do consider a registered agent service to be very vital and when we add that specific add-on, the total price will become about $387.
2. Limited Customer Support
BetterLegal seems to have a longer response time and I believe they are improving in this area.
Additional Filing Services
BetterLegal also offers a lot of additional services apart from helping you form an LLC or incorporate your business. They also after the following extra services:
- Domesticate foreign LLC: They can help you to move your LLC’s home state from one state to another.
- Reinstate LLC or corporation: Was your LLC or Corporation recently dissolved? They can help you to reinstate it.
- Terminate an LLC or Corporation: They can help you legally dissolve an LLC or corporation.
- Obtain Certificate of Good Standing: They can help you obtain a certificate of good standing for your business.
- Register foreign LLC in a new state: Also called a “Foreign Qualification,” this process usually involves applying for a “Certificate of Authority”. This allows an LLC formed in one state to legally operate in another state.
- Change principal office address: They can also help you to change your business address from the one originally listed on your Articles of Organization or Incorporation to a new one.
- Remove or add members, directors, or shareholders: They can helo you officially alter your company’s record to reflect changes in its members, directors, or shareholders.
