A Nigerian man living abroad has taken to social media to celebrate how his recent car purchase influenced his younger brother to buy the same model.
The X user @steezy10_ shared photos of their two new cars on the microblogging platform, expressing joy over their financial progress. He highlighted how such a milestone would have been nearly impossible if they were still living in Nigeria.
According to him, the economic situation in Nigeria and the country’s minimum wage of N70,000 would never have allowed them to afford a BMW worth thousands of dollars.
“My younger brother saw my new whip and went to pick same for himself 😂. If na Nigeria person still dey, him for never fit buy keke but God paved the way. Thank you tech for our toys and sending us abroad,” he wrote.
In the comment section, the tech worker further emphasized how relocating abroad and working in the technology sector opened doors to financial freedom.
His post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians abroad relating to his experience, while others debated the challenges of achieving financial success back home.
A social media user @_BabatundeQodri reacted, “You fit buy cars with Government salary in Nigeria. Minimum wages has being implemented bro.”
Another user @yallmeetbenny added, “I love this. God I see what you’re doing for others please remember me and my siblings no let us die for Nigeria.”
