UNILAG Academic Calendar: The University of Lagos (UNILAG) First and Second Semester Approved Academic Calendar for the 2024/2025 Session has been released.
This is to inform the general public and most especially all the students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) that the management of the institution has released the academic calendar for the first and second semesters, the 2024/2025 academic session.

The Directorate of Academic Affairs, University of Lagos has released the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 Academic session as follows;
APPROVED ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR FIRST SEMESTER, 2024/2025 SESSION
First Semester Schedule
- 12 August 2024 – Online registration opens for all returning students.
- 28 October 2024 – Resumption for all students.
- 4 November 2024 – Lectures begin.
- 24 November 2024 – Registration closes for all students.
- 9-22 December 2024 – Editing of registered courses.
- 23 December 2024 – 5 January 2025 – Christmas and New Year break.
- 6 January 2025 – Resumption after the holiday.
- 13 January 2025 – Convocation lecture.
- 14-16 January 2025 – Convocation ceremonies.
- 14 February 2025 – End of lectures.
- 17-21 February 2025 – Lecture-free week and GST exams.
- 24 February – 8 March 2025 – Undergraduate exams in all faculties.
- 10-15 March 2025 – Exams in core courses for Faculty of Education.
- 15 March 2025 – End of semester, students depart, and registration for the second semester opens.
- 17-28 March 2025 – First semester break.
The calendar includes statutory programmes throughout the semester, such as faculty board meetings on the second Wednesday of every month, inaugural lectures on the first and third Wednesday, and senate meetings on the last Wednesday of each month.
Second Semester Schedule
- 15 March 2025 – Online registration for second semester courses opens.
- 31 March 2025 – Resumption and start of lectures.
- 27 April 2025 – Course registration ends.
- 5-18 May 2025 – Editing of registered courses.
- 4 July 2025 – Lectures conclude.
- 7-11 July 2025 – Lecture-free week and GST exams.
- 14-26 July 2025 – Undergraduate exams in all faculties.
- 28 July – 2 August 2025 – Exams in core courses for Faculty of Education.
- 2 August 2025 – End of semester, students depart, and registration for the 2025/2026 session opens.
- 2 September 2025 – Results consideration by BCOS begins.
- 8 August 2025 – DLI residential programme begins.
- 13 September 2025 – DLI students depart.
- 24 September 2025 – Senate meeting to consider results.
- 27 October 2025 – Proposed resumption date for the 2025/2026 session.
The second semester also includes monthly faculty board meetings, inaugural lectures, senate meetings, and results uploading two weeks after exams.
UNILAG Postgraduate Revised Academic Calendar, 2021/2022 & 2022/2023 sessions
The management of School of Postgraduate studies University of lagos has released the Revised Academic Calendar for 2021/2022 And 2022/2023 session. The calendar is as follows;
FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC SESSION
- Monday, November 14 – Saturday, November 26, 2022 –Registration of Courses (2 weeks)
- Monday, November 28, 2022 – Commencement of Lectures
- Saturday, March 4, 2023 – End of Lectures (14 weeks)
- Monday January 2 – Saturday, January 7, 2023 – Editing of Registered Courses
- Monday, March 6, 2023 – Saturday, March 18, 2023 –Examinations in all Courses (2 weeks)
SECOND SEMESTER 2021/2022 AND 2022/2023 SESSIONS
- Monday, March 20, 2023 – Saturday, April 8, 2023 – Registration/Editing of Registered Courses (3 weeks)
- Monday, March 27, 2023 – Commencement of Lectures
- July 1, 2023 – End of Lectures (14 weeks)
- Monday April 1 – Saturday, January 6, 2023 – Editing of Registered Courses
- Monday, July 3, 2023 – Saturday, July 15, 2023 – Examinations in all Courses(2 weeks)
